Weeks one through three (above) went pretty much as planned. Week 4, this week, I probably did 100 miles in two days. Accordingly, I didn't do a long ride. However, I rode much harder miles than up to this point. The first three weeks I have been just riding until getting tired. This weekend, Glenn pushed me pretty hard on a 3-hour ride with a bunch of 2 to 5 minute climbs. Then, Sunday, I raced in the Owasco Flyer, which was an intense, hard 2 hour-ride. These two rides really cooked me. I had trouble waking up this morning and couldn't drink enough coffee to drive the deep fatigue from my body. I probably won't have to go through this again though. This coming week I will look only to do a 120 mile long ride. I will probably through some intensity into the last 20-30 miles of this ride but I will not do as much intensity as this weekend. This week I will just recover with commuting rides and cross training.
