I wake up ten hours after going to bed, with some mild muscle aches and a bit of a headache. What is wrong with me? Yesterday was not a "hard ride" by any reasonable standards. Yesterday's "training session" was my final push towards any sort of fitness. This is the form that I will take with me to France and rely on to roll over sections of road that tilt upward for 35 km at a time, reaching a mile upwards before offering any sort of rest. I suppose I will also be carrying my gear with me, which will make the bike a bit heavier. I wonder how carrying a load will affect my riding. After deciding that I probably won't notice the extra weight, I brew myself a full pot of coffee and check my email. As I suspected, the office is screaming for attention. No use worrying about my fitness now, it's time to settle down in front of the computer monitor for a good long stretch before considering the pros and cons of Indian take out versus Chinese. I wonder which Lance Armstrong would choose for his Tour preparation. Probably the General Tso's Chicken.
